2016 Ford Flex at Kearny Pearson Ford

What is the 2016 Ford Flex? It's technically an SUV even though it has the look of an old Woodie updated for the 21st Century. But whether you're seeing it from a distance, up close, or from behind the wheel, it's not like anything else on the road around San Diego, CA. That's one reason among many that the staff here at Kearny Pearson Ford, and the drivers we serve, love the Ford Flex. For all the adjectives you could attach to it -- fun, dependable, powerful, even quirky -- "unique" seems to fit best.

2016 Ford Flex Features

The Ford Flex entered its current generation in 2013. The 2016 Ford Flex comes in three trim levels -- SE, SEL, and Limited -- and through a combination of color schemes, stand-alone options, and option packages, it's a cinch to customize one that fits your needs and your style.

The 2016 Ford Flex seats seven comfortably thanks to 155.8 cubic feet of passenger space. Depending on seating arrangements, cargo volume ranges from 20 to 83 cubic feet. Front wheel drive is standard on all trims, as is the 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that puts out 287 horsepower. The Limited AWD trim has an optional direct-injected turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine that backs its 365 horsepower with 350 lb.-ft. of torque. Each engine is paired to a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

2016 Ford Flex Safety and Special Features

The 2016 Ford Flex is loaded with technology from bumper to bumper. Optional safety features include BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System), adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, rain-sensing wipers, and active park assist help keep you safe on the road. That safety, combined with ample space and a design that's... well, "Flex"-ible, makes the Ford Flex a great family car that manages not to look like a stereotypical family hauler.

Other features remind you this is no ordinary SUV. Both can be extended with FordPass telematics, an app that puts maintenance and assistance as close as your smartphone. The Ford SYNC infotainment system (which puts your apps, phone, and music within easy reach) is standard, and can be upgraded to the faster and more intuitive SYNC 3 system, which includes navigation and integration with Apple's Siri® personal assistant.
