2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty at Kearny Pearson Ford

Here at Kearny Pearson Ford, we know that there are times when you just need a massive, horsepower- and torque-heavy pickup truck. While the smaller Ford F-150 is fine for most pickup truck situations, contractors, blue collar workers, and people who need to tow huge loads require a bigger truck. For these people, there is the 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty. Now available here at our San Diego, CA Ford dealership, the 2016 Ford F-450 is the biggest and baddest pickup made by Ford engineers, and it blends massive engines with comfortable and spacious cabins to create a truck that is made for completing the most difficult, demanding jobs.

2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty Details

The 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty is a pickup truck offered in just one configuration: a four-wheel-drive, four-door crew cab with an eight-foot cargo bed and dual rear wheels. Buyers can choose between five different trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. Coming standard on the base XL are 19.5-inch aluminum wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black grille and bumpers, roof clearance lights, and vinyl upholstery. Upgrading to higher trims adds luxuries like dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, and heated and ventilated front bucket seats.

Under the hood is where the 2016 Ford F-450 really impresses. Every trim of the truck is powered by a turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel V8 engine that produces 440 horsepower and 860 lb-ft of torque. The truck also boasts engine exhaust braking in order to help maintain control on downhill grades while towing. This beastly engine is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission, a limited-slip differential, and four-wheel-drive.

2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty

The 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty is not simply all brawn and no brains. Starting with the XLT trim, buyers are treated to the Ford Sync voice command system, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and a four-speaker sound system with a CD player, satellite radio, and an auxiliary audio jack and USB port. The higher trims come standard with the MyFord Touch infotainment system, which comes with an eight-inch touchscreen, upgraded Sync functionality, a rearview camera, and an eight-speaker Sony audio system.

When you’re towing huge loads around San Diego, CA, you’re going to want to ensure that you’re safe and secure. Luckily, the 2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty comes standard with anti-lock brakes, trailer sway control, hill start assist, side curtain airbags, and an SOV post-crash alert system. In testing, the pickup truck came to a stop from 60 miles per hour in 146 feet.
