2017 Ford F-250 at Kearny Pearson Ford
The Ford F-Series turns 70 years old next year. Thanks to decades' worth of refinements, research, and relentless innovation, the Ford F-Series -- spearheaded by the Ford F-150 and helped along by the Ford F-Series Super Duty, exemplified by the 2017 Ford F-250 -- are the best selling vehicles not only here in San Diego, but from coast to coast. When you need the job done right, there's no substitute for the brute force of the Ford F-250. You'll find it right here at Kearny Pearson Ford.
2017 Ford F-250 Details
When we say "brute force," we're not kidding. The standard engine is a flex fuel-capable 6.2L V8 that puts out 385 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. That's small potatoes next to the 6.7 liter twin-turbo diesel engine, which produces 440 horsepower and a staggering 925 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard, though it's worth noting that the diesel models receive the same heavy-duty transmission found in the larger Ford F-350 and Ford F-450.
That's a good thing, since the towing capacity of the diesel model tops out at 18,000 pounds' towing capacity and a 28,700 pound maximum GCWR when appropriately equipped. Thanks to the powerful engine and a lighter curb weight that comes from extensive use of high-strength aluminum, the Ford F-250 also accelerates from zero to sixty in 8.1 seconds, which is faster than practically anything else in its class.
2017 Ford F-250 Safety and Special Features
The cargo capacity of the Ford F-250 will likely come in handy for all the awards the truck has received. Among several honors, it's the 2017 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, while Car and Driver named it both an Editor's Choice and one of their 10Best. While neither the IIHS nor the NHTSA have tested this truck, its sheer size and tank-like build will leave you feeling safe. That feeling is reinforced by features like adaptive steering, trailer sway control and a series of cameras that provide assistance for parking or connecting a trailer.
Do even more with your Ford F-250 thanks to upfitter switches that give you easy installation and control for aftermarket accessories like work lights, radios, winches, plows, and more. And since all work and no play would make the Ford F-250 a dull truck indeed, be sure to have some fun with the applications, navigation and music you can leverage through the intuitive Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system.
