2017 Ford F-150 at Kearny Pearson Ford

After a major redesign for the 2016 model year, you'd think there wouldn't be much room for improvement in the 2017 Ford F-150. The Ford Motor Company, and their best-loved vehicle, didn't get where they are by being complacent. In short, the best (and best-selling) pickup truck in America just got a little bit better. That's good news for the drivers in San Diego served by Kearny Pearson Ford.

2017 Ford F-150 Details

The 2017 Ford F-150 brings back all six of the trim levels that were available last year and adds one (more on that below). Between trim levels, cab and box configurations, driveline, and powertrain choices, you can choose a Ford F-150 that fits practically any job life throws at you. Engine choices include an all-new 3.5-liter V6 with a best-in class 470 lb.-ft. of torque, a 5.0-liter Coyote V8, the turbocharged 2.7-L EcoBoost V6, and a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The six-speed automatic transmission that's standard on most trims can be optioned out for a new ten-speed automatic transmission.

2017 Ford F-150 Raptor

The return of the Ford F-150 Raptor has been rumored for quite some time. Available in SuperCab and SuperCrew configurations, it's built for off-road performance. The Raptor has a twin-turbo V-6 engine that delivers 450 lb.-ft. of torque, putting its 410 horsepower to excellent use. The powertrain is completed by the new ten-speed transmission.

2017 Ford F-150 Safety and Special Features

The Ford F-150 earns high marks from the NHTSA, taking home a five-star safety rating. Clearly, the innovative construction -- which includes extensive use of aluminum to reduce weight and improve handling and fuel economy -- hasn't compromised safety. It also helps that these new Ford trucks may be outfitted with a host of active safety features, including cross-traffic alert, blind spot detection, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, collision warning, and optional towing features like Trailer Sway Control and Pro Trailer Backup Assist.

Ford trucks play as hard as they work. The updated Ford Sync3 infotainment system can now leverage SYNC® Connect with Ford Connect to give you an unprecedented degree of connectivity. Apps, music, diagnostics, and more are literally at your fingertips, so all the raw power of the Ford F-150 comes with a hefty dose of smarts.

Buying a 2017 Ford F-150

Just how good is the 2017 Ford F-150? Here's one hint: it was named to Car and Driver's 10Best Trucks and SUVs. Surveying the Full-Size Light Duty class, they noted, "One rises above the others due to refinement and innovations that push the art of the full-size pickup farther than its competition: the Ford F-150." Fans of Ford trucks, in San Diego and elsewhere, will find a lot to love in the 2017 Ford F-150 just like they have for decades before.
